I’M SUCCESSFUL, SO WHY AM I SO UNHAPPY?
You worked hard to build this life.
You became capable, dependable, and good at what you do.
From the outside, things may look more than fine.
And yet something feels missing.
You may wonder,
Why am I unhappy when I have so much to be grateful for?
Sometimes success answers questions we were never actually asking.
It can bring stability, recognition, and choice.
But it cannot tell us whether the life we built still feels like ours.
Many successful people learned early how to read what was expected of them.
They became accomplished by being useful, disciplined, and easy to rely on.
Over time, achievement can become more than something you do.
It can become the way you secure approval, belonging, or safety.
This does not make your success false.
It may simply mean it cannot carry everything you have asked it to carry.
Perhaps the question is not,
Why can’t I appreciate my life?
Perhaps it is,
What have I had to leave out of myself in order to create it?
SUCCESS CAN BUILD A LIFE, AND STILL LEAVE YOU EMPTY.
